Finding the Serial Number on your Honda Lawn Mower
When ordering parts or servicing your Honda mower, your parts dealer will ask for the serial number or model type. Variations can occur even within the same model due to manufacturer improvements. Think of the differences between a Mk 1 Ford Focus (1998) and a Mk 4 model (2019)!
Your parts dealer can locate the exact parts diagram for your specific model and variant. Having this information ready when you call will ensure a smooth ordering process. This article will help you find this vital information!
What does the identification plate look like?
If your mower was made after 1997, it likely has 11 characters, formatted as M_ _ _ -XXXXXXX.
Honda serial numbers are usually printed on black and silver labels. If your lawnmower has a Honda engine, the model and serial number may be located under the housing or on the right side of the engine.
Honda offers a variety of mowers, including HR, HRA, HRB, HRD, HRE, HRF, HRG, HRH, HRM, HRS, HRX, and HRZ, which differ by year and model. Consequently, the location of the decal may vary.
If you're unsure, there are online systems available to help you locate the identification plate and see details of your machine.
