Preparing your Garden Power Tools for Spring
After a winter of inactivity, it’s time to prepare your garden power tools for spring use.
Check for any broken parts
Inspect your tools for any broken or damaged parts. If you find any issues and need assistance, contact your local dealer for repairs or replacements.
Sharpen blades and chains
Examine the blades and teeth for bluntness. If they are dull, sharpen or replace them to ensure optimal performance.
Check air, fuel, oil filters and spark plugs
Inspect all filters and spark plugs for wear. Refer to your machine's manual or consult a dealer for replacements if necessary.
Recharge the batteries
Test and recharge the batteries for your garden machinery. They should have been stored at a charge level of 40-60% over winter.

Change the oil (4-stroke)
Replace the oil in your 4-stroke garden tools to ensure smooth and efficient operation. Dispose of the old oil safely and correctly.
Fresh fuel and 2-stroke mix
Flush out any old fuel before adding fresh fuel and 2-stroke mix. For 2-stroke machines, mix a new batch of fuel and oil at a 50:1 ratio.

Lubricate and tighten any loose parts
Ensure all tools and parts are in good condition and well lubricated. Moving parts like bearings, wheels, and hinges must be lubricated for optimal performance. Check for any loose parts in the machine. Refer to the instruction manual for more details.
Ensure the machine starts and runs
Start your machine for a few minutes before use. This allows the oil and fuel to circulate properly throughout the system.
