How to Change the Fuel Filter and Fuel Tank on a Yanmar L48N Engine

Today we're going to change the fuel filter and Tank on a Yanmar L48N Engine. Before starting make sure the fuel is off and the tank is empty. First of all you need to remove the two bolts holding the tank bracket using a 12mm Spanner, then you can remove the bracket. Once that's done you need to loosen the spring clip by using pliers to pinch it and move it down the hose. Now you must detach the fuel hose from the tank, completely freeing it. Use a 10mm spanner to loosen the two nuts and remove the fixing which holds the fuel filter in place. You can now remove the filter from the tank by hand. Check you the fuel filter for any damage, for instance the seal on the filter. Also look for any signs of wear or damage. If necessary, replace your filter. As a tip, use pliers to help you guide the filter back into place. Place the filter into the fuel tank, ensuring the spigots are fed through the other end of the fuel tank. Once it's thread through, place the filter fixing over the two spigots and fix the nuts back on. Remember to tighten as if this comes loose then the fuel could potentially leak. Place the tank back on and fit the hose over the connector, ensuring it's securely on. Once it's in place, move the spring clip back up the hose towards the tank. Finally place the bracket securely over the fuel tank and screw back on fixing it to the machine. That's how you change the fuel filter and Tank on a Yanmar L48N Engine.
