Overview:
The Sealey VS0052 Refractometer is a handheld optical instrument for checking the concentration and condition of common vehicle fluids. Built with a robust metal body, a textured grip, and a rubber eyepiece, it houses a precision glass prism with temperature compensation for stable, repeatable readings. It measures battery electrolyte strength (state of charge), coolant/antifreeze mixtures (ethylene and propylene glycol, including long-life OAT and G13), screenwash concentration, and AdBlue quality (around 32.5% urea). A hinged sample plate allows quick placement of a few drops for testing, and an adjustable focus eyepiece helps achieve a sharp scale image. Suitable for workshops and on-site use across cars, vans, HGVs, agricultural machines, plant equipment, generators, and garden machinery, the VS0052 helps maintain reliable starting, effective cooling, and clean emissions systems.
