The TechFast Timber to Steel CSK/Wing Screw by ForgeFix is designed for reliably fastening timber to steel frame buildings. Constructed with a 5.5 x 50mm dimension, these screws feature a No.5 drill tip ideal for self-drilling into heavy gauge steel up to 12.5mm thickness. These screws include breakaway wings that aid in creating a clearance hole when drilling, ensuring the threading does not engage with the timber. When the wings make contact with the metal surface, they ream the hole and break off, allowing the thread to securely engage with the steel. Featuring a TORX® compatible insert, these screws ensure a higher power transmission for effective countersinking with enhanced recessed ribs. They are fire and corrosion-resistant and comply with EU Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements.
