Identifying Your Yanmar Engine: Finding the Model and Serial Number

Hannah Published on May 20, 2020 View Comments

To purchase the right parts for your Yanmar engine, you must identify the serial number and model number. This information is found on a plate located on the engine. Providing these details to your dealer is crucial, as some parts may vary based on the engine's specifications and year of manufacture. Ensuring you have the correct information will help you buy the right parts for optimal engine performance.

Having this information ready when you call your parts dealer will enable them to find the exact parts diagram for your specific model and variant, ensuring they can identify and source the correct parts for your machine.

What does the plate look like?

The appearance of the plate may vary slightly depending on the engine series, but you can easily locate the Model and Serial Number.

For example, "MODEL" indicates the engine model, while "ENGINE No." refers to the serial number or identification number.
