Putting the Spark Back into Villiers in 1981 || Villiers
As our recent blog post about Wyn's visit to the Villiers Warehouse in the 1960s has been such a hit we've been through our archives.
Wyn has sifted through our old tea chests and uncovered an article from the 'British Business' Booklet in 1981. This article details the rebuilding of Villiers after its liquidation in 1975. It's an encouraging story, highlighting that 'nobody makes a better engine for the purpose than Villiers.'
Villiers was, and remains, a cornerstone of the UK's engineering industry. Their engines are built to last, with enthusiasts nationwide constantly seeking ways to refurbish their vintage models!
We are gradually working through our extensive archive of information and fascinating stories from the past 50 years. We hope you enjoy these posts.
