Overview:
Timco's HSS Blacksmith Drill is a large‐diameter twist drill bit built for accurate drilling in tough materials. It has a 16.5 mm cutting diameter and a compact 160 mm overall length, machined from high‐speed steel (HSS) for strength and edge retention. A titanium nitride (TiN) coating gives added surface hardness and reduces friction. The reduced 12.5 mm shank with three flats provides a secure, non‐slip drive and fits standard 13 mm drill chucks commonly found on hand drills and pillar drills. Suitable for corded and cordless drills, bench and pillar drills, and site use where controlled speed and feed are available. It performs well on alloy steel, cast iron, non‐ferrous metals such as aluminium and brass, and many plastics when used with appropriate technique.
