The Volkel Taper Cut 1 x 8 UNC Imperial Tap is a high-quality steel hand tap for forming or restoring internal UNC threads in metal components. It features a taper lead and straight flutes that start the thread smoothly and help keep alignment true, making it dependable for workshop, site maintenance, and DIY use. The thread size is 1 inch x 8 TPI (major diameter 25.4 mm, pitch 3.175 mm), common on heavy-duty fasteners and large fittings. Designed primarily for use with a tap wrench or T‐handle, it can also be guided under a drill press or tapping fixture to improve accuracy. Built to ANSI B1.1, it delivers consistent, coarse-thread results in steels, aluminium, brass, and cast iron when used with an appropriate cutting fluid. Supplied singly.
