A Step by Step Guide on How To Fill Stihl AutoCut 25-2 Mowing Heads
The Stihl AutoCut 25-2 Mowing Head fits Stihl petrol-powered trimmers and brushcutters, including the FSA90 cordless model. This cutting head is perfect for smaller tasks like mowing and thinning, delivering reliable performance and consistent results.
The AutoCut mowing head features a line storage system that dispenses the line during operation. Tapping the top of the mowing head on the ground activates the line release mechanism, allowing the centrifugal force to feed out the line.
Step 1: Opening the Mowing Head
Press the indentation cut-outs on the top casing to open the mowing head. To remove the base, press one side inward until the catch disengages, then repeat on the other side. The cover will then come off easily.
Step 2: Removing the Spool
Locate the plastic hook on the spool by twisting it slightly, then pull it out from the top casing.
Step 3: Rewinding the Line
Take two lines, each no longer than 7m or 10m. Insert one end of a line into one of the spool's eyes and wind it according to the indicated direction. Ensure the line is wound evenly and tightly. Insert the other end of the line into one of the spool's openings.
Step 4: Winding on the Second Line
For the second chamber, repeat step 3, inserting the end of the second line into the opposite side of the spool.
Step 5: Inserting the Spool
Place the spool back into the top casing and pull the ends of the lines through the openings in the spool. Position them in the groove of the mowing head.
Step 6: Closing the Mowing Head
Clip the base back onto the mowing head to secure it.
Step 7: Shortening the ends of the Line
Finally, trim the ends of the line so that about 10cm extends from each opening.
