Overview:
The Volkel 10mm Thread Insert is a metric helical wire insert for restoring and strengthening internal threads. Formed from corrosion‐resistant steel wire, it creates a durable internal thread that resists wear, vibration, and heat. Use it to repair stripped or worn M10 threads or to reinforce new threads in softer metals such as aluminium and magnesium. Suitable for construction plant, garden machinery, and workshop equipment, including generators, compactors, pumps, mowers, and power tools. It helps maintain clamp loads and thread integrity in housings, casings, and brackets where fasteners are frequently removed and refitted. Installation follows a standard process using the correct drill size, an STI tap, and an installation mandrel. Once fitted, the insert provides a hard, wear‐resistant thread that extends the service life of components.
