Description
Overview:
Forged steel 50mm tow ball with a two-bolt flange plate, finished in gold passivate for corrosion resistance. Bolts to any standard flange towbar drilled at 90mm centres and accepts all UK and EU 50mm ball couplings. Type approved to UN/ECE Regulation 55, the standard that replaced EC94/20 for towbar and coupling components. Supplied as the ball and plate only. Mounting bolts are ordered separately.

Fitting:
Use BS3692 grade 8.8 high tensile bolts with lock washers. Torque to 240Nm, then re-check after first use and at regular intervals thereafter.
Towing Capacity:
Maximum braked trailer weight derived from the D-value:
- Behind a 3,500kg vehicle: 3,430kg
- Behind a 7,500kg vehicle: 2,250kg
These are coupling limits only. The lowest of the coupling limit, the towing vehicle's plated towing limit, the trailer's gross weight and the driver's licence entitlement applies. Centre-axle trailers are rated on Dc and V-value rather than D.
Typical Applications:
General towing on cars, vans and light commercials running goods trailers, small plant trailers and box trailers. The entry point in the flange ball range where the higher 350kg vertical load of the heavy duty pattern is not required.
