Description
Overview:
Maypole 50mm ball and pin hitch in silver, combining a 50mm tow ball with a pin and jaw coupling on a single mounting. Bolts to a standard towbar plate using two M16 bolts at 90mm fixing centres. Allows a vehicle to tow either a 50mm ball coupling trailer or a towing eye trailer without swapping hardware. Approved to UN/ECE Regulation 55.

Fitting:
Use BS3692 grade 8.8 M16 bolts and class 8 nuts with lock washers. Torque to 240Nm. A replacement pin is available separately.
Towing Capacity:
Maximum braked trailer weight derived from the D-value:
- Behind a 3,500kg vehicle: 5,000kg
- Behind a 7,500kg vehicle: 2,830kg
These are coupling limits only. The lowest of the coupling limit, the towing vehicle's plated towing limit, the trailer's gross weight and the driver's licence entitlement applies. Centre-axle trailers are rated on Dc and V-value rather than D.
Typical Applications:
Fleet 4x4s, pick-ups and light commercials towing plant and utility trailers, where both ball couplings and towing eye trailers are in service.
