Overview:
The Volkel 6 mm Helicoil Thread Insert is a formed wire insert used to repair stripped threads or reinforce new threads in housings, casings, and fixtures. Made from corrosion‐resistant steel wire, it reinstates a precise internal thread while spreading load over a larger area than the original threads. This reduces wear and pull‐out in softer base materials such as aluminium and cast alloys, and improves durability in steel components. Commonly fitted in power tools, garden machinery, plant equipment, and workshop jigs, it is suitable wherever an M6 thread is required for reliable fastening. Once installed into an STI‐tapped hole, the insert provides a standard M6 internal thread ready for bolts, screws, and studs used across construction, automotive, and maintenance tasks.
