Description
Overview:
R38 Retaining Compound is a genuine Lockfast part designed as a like-for-like replacement for Loctite 638. It is a high-strength, high-viscosity anaerobic adhesive formulated for securing cylindrical assemblies in construction and garden machinery. The green, UV-positive formula allows quick inspection under UV light, and its oil-tolerant chemistry helps it perform on parts that may not be perfectly degreased. With a service temperature range from -54°C to 180°C, it withstands demanding environments found in bearings, bushings, sleeves, gears and hubs. R38 delivers a shear strength greater than 25 N/mm2, fills gaps up to 0.15 mm, and is supplied in a 10 ml pack for maintenance and repair work. Disassembly is possible by applying heat above 180°C.
