Overview:
R38 (Replaces Loctite 638) Retaining Compound is a genuine Lockfast, green, high-strength adhesive supplied in a 50 ml bottle. It is an anaerobic, high-viscosity retainer formulated to lock and secure cylindrical metal parts, helping prevent loosening, fretting, and leakage in construction and garden machinery. Typical uses include fixing bearings in housings, bushes onto shafts, and sleeves in gearboxes and drive assemblies. The compound is oil tolerant, bonds reliably in challenging shop or site conditions, and fills close-fitting gaps up to 0.15 mm. With a service temperature range from -54°C to 180°C and shear strength greater than 25 N/mm2, it is suitable for heavy-duty, long-term assemblies. Disassembly is possible with heat above 180°C.
